Bruner Middle School Students Earn WORD Industry Certification

Bruner Middle School students, Jackllyn Pham (left) and Savannah Jordan (right) are the first two students to take and pass the WORD industry certification exam.  Jackllyn scored a perfect score of 1000.

“This is a very rigorous exam and it's the same test adults will take in college,” said Michelle Cook, Bruner’s Technology Teacher.  According to Jackllyn "the in class practices provided by Mrs. Cook and the practice test scenario helped out a lot and made the test easier."

Savanah mentioned "the practice test scenario and Mrs. Cook making me take the practice test several times, helped out a lot.”

Both students qualify for the 2017 Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) World Championship.  The MOS World Championship presented by Certiport, Inc. is a global competition that tests students’ skills on Microsoft Office Word, Excel® and PowerPoint® (2013 or 2016).  Top students are invited to represent their respective countries at the World Championship with cash prizes up to $7,000.
