Bob Sikes ES Rockin’ Robots Win FIRST LEGO League Florida Northwest Regional Championship

Bob Sikes Elementary Rockin’ Robots recently won the FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Florida Northwest Regional Championship, sponsored by the Doolittle Institute and hosted by the Northwest Florida State College.  “Sixteen of the region’s forty-eight teams competed for the Regional Championship title,” said Dottie Holland, Bob Sikes Elementary School Robotics Coach.

As the Tournament Champions, the Rockin’ Robots won a bid to the State Tournament in May in Orlando, Florida, and the World Festival, being held April 19th in Houston, Texas.  Teams from thirty-six countries and twenty-seven states will participate in the World Festival.

“Bob Sikes is one of eight teams from Florida’s 800 teams, who have earned the honor to compete,” said Holland.  “The Rockin’ Robots are the first team from this region to earn an invitation to the festival.”  The team is looking for sponsors to help them get to Houston in April and then go to Orlando for the state tournament in May.  To help sponsor the Rockin’ Robots, please email Dottie Holland.
