Area Middle Schools Excel in Emerald Coast Math Counts Competition

Students from five area middle schools competed in the 2016 Emerald Coast Math Counts Competition on Saturday, February 6th at the Okaloosa STEMM Center. The event is sponsored annually by the Emerald Coast Chapter of the Florida Engineering Society and the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME).

The students on the first and second place teams along with any top ten student not on the top two teams will advance to the state competition in Orlando on April 1st. Thanks to a generous donation by SAME of $2000, most of the cost of the attending the state competition will be covered for our students and coaches.

Top Ten Individual Winners:

The ten students scoring the highest on an individual written test went head to head during a fast-paced lightning round of problem solving to determine the top ten individual winners.
