Amy Klugh Named Principal of Bluewater Elementary School

Amy Klugh was named Principal of Bluewater Elementary School at the March 9th Okaloosa County School Board Meeting.

Klugh is a product of the Okaloosa County School system, attending Wright Elementary,  Bruner Middle School, and graduating from Fort Walton Beach High School in 1992.  She went on to receive her Bachelor’s Degree from Huntingdon College in Montgomery, AL and her Masters of Educational Leadership from the University of West Florida in 2000.   Amy began her career as a kindergarten teacher at Oak Hill Elementary on Eglin AFB. When Oak Hill closed in 2007, Amy moved to Eglin Elementary and then to Kenwood Elementary.  Altogether, she has taught kindergarten, second grade and fourth grade.  She has also achieved National Board Certification in Early Childhood and Elementary Literacy and Language Arts.  In November 2011, Amy became the assistant principal at Bluewater Elementary.   

Amy is married to Michael Klugh, another product of the Okaloosa County School system, attending Valparaiso Elementary, Ruckel Middle School, and graduating from Niceville High School. They have two sons, Adam, age 13, a seventh grader at Liza Jackson and Ethan, age 2.   She is actively involved in Trinity United Methodist Church, where she been a member since 1984.  She has been involved in the Huntingdon College Alumni Association where she has served as the alumni association president and also on the Board of Trustees.
