2018 Summer Camp Opportunities

  • Bulldog Camp

Target Audience: For Incoming Freshmen and New Students
Dates and Times: August 1st from 1-3 PM, August 2nd from 9 AM-1 PM, and August 3rd from 9AM-1PM
Location: Crestview High School Auditorium
Description: This event welcomes future Bulldogs, aligns them with a group of mentors and peers, and acclimates them to Bulldog Nation. See school website for more information. 
Cost: $25 (includes meals, a t-shirt, and supplies)
Constraints: Register by July 1 to receive a t-shirt. Registrations will be accepted through the first day of the event but participants may not receive a t-shirt. 

  • EdSpark! STEM Camp

  • This summer we are offering a couple of new camps as well as the LEGO Robotics Camps.

Time: Drop off 7:45 am – Pick-up 2:15 pm
Meals: Breakfast and lunch provided by the OCSD at all camp sites. Bring snacks or own lunch

LEGO Robotics Camp (entering grades 4th – 8th)
This camp will allow the student to design and build a LEGO EV3 Robot and program the robot to complete certain tasks throughout the week. Students will learn about the programming structures as well as using sensors to detect distance and color.

**NEW** Video Game Design/Coding -- (entering grades 6th – 8th)
Learn all about the world of game development. Get a taste of all the disciplines that go into making games, while developing your skills to create your very own game.

 These camps will be offered at the following sites:
Davidson Middle School – June 11th – June 15th LEGO Game
Meigs Middle School – June 18th – June 22nd LEGO
STEMM Center – June 25th – June 29th LEGO Game
Shoal River Middle School – July 30th – Aug 3 LEGO

**NEW** Arduino Robotics June 18th – 22nd (entering grades 6th–8th) ONLY AT DAVIDSON
Using a combination of mechanical, electrical and software engineering, learn how to design, assemble and program a robot using your own Arduino microcontroller, provided by EdSpark. You’ll learn about electronics and how circuits function. Plus, you will rapidly create and deploy your ideas as you bring your robotic creations to life!

Dates: July 16th - 20th
Ages: Students going into middle school through 11th grade
DoDEA Funded - Military families encouraged to register
Meals: Does NOT include lunch or snacks

Arduino Robotics
Students will be using a combination of mechanical, eletrical, and software engineering. They will learn how to design, assemble, and
program a robot using their own Ardunio Microcontroller provided by EdSpark. Students will learn about electronics and how circuits function.
Plus they will rapidly create and deploy their ideas as they bring their robot creations to life.
