Welcome to Destin Middle School - Home of Marlin Nation

Dr. Belinda SmallDear Marlin Families,
I hope you are resting and relaxing with loved ones this summer either in the comfort of your home or with your toes in the sand! I am finding much joy in my new home school and that is thanks to so many hard working, open, and friendly people like you. I feel very privileged to be working in a school district where the students are central to the heartbeat and rhythm of this community. I appreciate the teamwork it takes to support our main mission - student success! It is evident that Destin Middle School's historic A+ ranking comes from serious dedication from all stakeholders to uphold the strong belief in excellent teaching and learning. We will continue to accelerate learning with innovative and personalized instruction.
Our upcoming academic year is truly filled with the promise of renewal, reconnection, and inspiring student-centered activities. I look forward to all the gatherings of campus life that was missed last year and getting to know your child. Fall semester will be here soon and students will be back to school with their friends and teachers in the blink of an eye! I encourage all families to utilize the awesome Summer Bridge program for daily short practice. These are great printable resources complete with answer keys for parents, guardians, and/or tutors!
One of our goals is to see that the parents and guardians of students - like the students themselves - feel at home at Destin Middle School. To accomplish that, parent newsletters are emailed to all parents throughout the school year, providing you with information about events and activities. We will utilize our school Facebook page, website, newsletter, school marquee, and an occasional call out. If you do not have a current email address filed with the school, please call the front office to update this important contact information.
We are glad to have you with us this year, and we want to assure you that we will do our best to help your child experience academic, social, and emotional growth.

Go Marlins!
Belinda Small, Ed.D.
