Really Great Reading

Really Great Reading is an online learning platform that provides student practice tools and activities for students in grades 1-4, as well as older students who may be struggling.  It contains multisensory activities and decodable readers and online tools and explicit parent directions.  Available FREE though June 30, 2020.

Khan Academy

The Khan Academy library of trusted, standards-aligned practice and lessons covers math K-12 through early college. Grammar, Science, History, AP, SAT, and more. It's all free for learners and teachers.

Scholastic Learn At Home

Scholastic Learn at Home provides day by day articles, stories, video and challenges for students in grades K-9. Arranged into four week segments; however, they can be completed in any order either independently or with guidance.  Available FREE through June 30, 2020.

iReady

Snargg Splat/Door 24 Plus
Free iPad Math Fact Game for Kids in grades 1-8. It works to establish students' fact fluency and then builds computational fluency. Door 24 Plus requires students to solve problems using basic facts, number sense, and algebraic thinking. This iPad app contains two games: Snargg Splatt to develop fact fluency and Victor Fixer to develop computational fluency. After completing a quick assessment to identify skill gaps and growth areas, the app will assign students to the game that will best meet their needs. Starfall offers a LIMITED free subscription for students in grades K-3 in phonics, Language Arts, and Math.  Includes interactive audiovisual activities.  Excellent resource for English Language Learners.

 

Num-fu

Fact Mastery -This new series of math education apps, developed by ORIGO Education provides essential practice for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts in an appropriate developmental sequence. The teaching rationale stems from decades of research on how children best learn basic facts. Num Fu is now FREE in the iTunes App Store! Please note that this app is only currently available via iTunes.

Time for Kids


Time for Kids is offering FREE grade specific access to their libraries for students in grades K-8.  Teaching Tools including worksheets and other activities are included.  AVAILABLE in Spanish as well as English.

 

Freckle

Freckle is an online learning platform that allows students to practice Math and English Language Arts at their own level. Freckle continuously adapts to each student’s individual skills, so each student is getting the appropriate challenge, whether they’re working at, above, or below grade level. Students can access Freckle by going to student.freckle.com or downloading the Freckle iPad app from the App Store.

Abdo Digital Bookshelf

Abdo Digial Bookshelf is offering FREE e-books for all grade levels.  Students can search by grade level or genre. 

 

At Home

Origo Education at Home offers weekly digital content plans for home use. The weekly plans contain activities for each day, along with digitally accessible or downloadable resources, designed for delivery by a caregiver or remote teacher. These resources complement the mathematical concepts and skills your students are learning at their grade level. No login required. Origo at Home-available FREE through June 30, 2020.

Smarty Ants

Smarty Ants is designed to build reading skills and accelerate reading for K-2 students through interactive online learning environment.  Students learn through game-like activities.  FREE to Okaloosa students through July.

Math ELA
Khan Academy

Khan Academy is a tried and true website that provides video tutorials and guided practice sessions from elementary math to calculus. As an added bonus, students are given immediate feedback on practice problems.

Khan Academy

Kahn Academy has added new content under the ELA beta tab found at the bottom right of the home page.  This content is designed for students in grades 2-9 and includes instruction on reading and vocabulary.  The lessons include content and practice activities similar to those Florida students would encounter in the classroom and on state examinations.

Dad’s Worksheets



Dad’s Worksheets provides parents with hundreds of fluency practice worksheets ranging from fraction operations to multi-step equations. Each practice page is paired with an answer key that often provides the steps to solve the problems.

Actively Learn

Actively Learn is an online curriculum platform that includes content for grades 2-8.  The platform gives students an opportunity to read engaging articles independently.  Students may sign up for an account at any time.  There is a student help center and chat for additional guidance.  Once in the program, students make selections from a wide range of nonfiction and fiction which includes classic literature, folktales, and content area readings on science and history.

Prodigy

Prodigy  - This is a game based fluency program that works with all grades levels of middle school math. Students are able to create personalized avatars and compete with students of similar ability levels.

NoRedInk

NoRedInk builds stronger writers through interest-based curriculum and adaptive exercises.  Students in grades K-12 identify parts of speech, rearrange sentences, edit and mark up text, and/or organize ideas into outlines.  The instruction and practice is differentiated to meet each student’s individual needs.  Some ELA teachers may have signed students up for this program prior to the school closure.  If so, students would only need to enter their code to get started.  Other students may click on the link below the class code box (I don’t have a class code) and sign up for a free student account. 

Quizziz


Quizziz - This is a quiz based learning program. Parents can chose from thousands of pre-made questions and create a custom quiz for their child. Students are encouraged to work at their own pace and the program provides students with immediate feedback on their answer choices.

Audible

Audible is offering free stories to stream on desktops, laptops, phones, or tablets.  Click on Start Listening (golden tab).  Book selections are divided into pre-school, elementary, tween, and teen. There are recordings in multiple languages such as English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, and Italian. 

  National Emergency Library

National Emergency Library is a site that contains a temporary collection of books that supports emergency remote teaching, research activities, independent scholarship, and intellectual stimulation while universities, schools, training centers, and libraries are closed. Reading levels range from Preschool to Grades 10-12.  Go to National Emergency Library for frequently asked questions.
