21st Century Community Learning Centers Grants

Okaloosa County School District (OCSD), through the 21st CCLC grant provides 240 students (60 students per site) opportunities that contribute to increasing their likeliness of academic success.  Four school campuses were chosen based upon “at-risk” factors that contribute to academic success and the lack of available services.  Baker School – M-F 2:30-4:55, Edwins Elementary – M-F 3:10-5:35, Elliott Point M-F 2:30-4:55, Wright Elementary M-F 3:10-5:35.  All sites will operate 172 days.  Students are provided engaging, research-based supplementation in the core areas and cultural enrichment activities.  These experiences inlcude the following:  STEM, Problem-Based Learning, Numeracy Programs, Literacy Extension, Community Service Projects, and the Arts.  Students’ goals include increased academic achievement along with acquiring cultural and background experiences.
