These policies and procedures apply for all of my classes:

-All Choctawhatchee High School and Okaloosa County School district policies will be followed.

·         Be respectful at all times. I respect all of you – please respect each other, and me as well.

·         TALK TO ME – If you’re having trouble, if you don’t understand, if you don’t know what’s going on. I can always help you if you communicate with me. If I don’t know what’s going on, it’s impossible for me to help.

·         Check your calendars. There is no reason to be unaware of due dates in this class. They are posted in multiple places. Find the one that works for you, and use it.

·         Be respectful of the classroom space. Clean up after yourself. Leave things as you found them. Don’t write on your desks. If you feel an urgent need to draw on something, ask me for paper.

·         Cell phones are ONLY permitted with permission from the teacher, and only for use in academic activities if the student has written permission on file. You may not send text messages or enter any websites without the teacher’s permission. Phones will only be out when asked, and students will not listen to music. Phones will be confiscated and given to the discipline office if these rules are broken. This is especially important for test days. Any student caught with a cell phone/electronic device during a test will be considered to be cheating and will receive a grade of 0 on the test.

·         You are TARDY if you enter the classroom after the bell has rung. Your only option is to go to the Tardy Post and collect a pass.

·         Do not interrupt the class to ask for a pen, pencil or paper. If you need a pencil, pick one up from the jar at the door on your way in. Be prepared with your necessary equipment and organize your notes and worksheets in your folder.

·         You must be courteous. Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. If you misbehave, you will receive one verbal warning. On the second offense, your parent will be contacted. On the third offense, you will be referred to the discipline office.

·         Note assignments, tests and quizzes in your student planner. It is your responsibility to keep up with your work.

·         Complete all class activities on time. If you have an excused absence, you have FIVE days from the day of your return to make up assignments or tests given on the day of your absence. If you had an assignment due on the day of your absence, you MUST turn it in on the day of your immediate return to class. If your absence is unexcused, you will receive a 0 for any work missed (make sure to turn in excused notes on time!). Quizzes and tests should be made up after school. Speak with me to arrange a day/time.

·         Students who are absent for more than 15 days will not be permitted to make up any work, per district policy.

·         Sleeping or laying your head down in class is unacceptable.

·         Do not ask to go anywhere other than to the bathroom or nurse. You must have a pass to go anywhere.

·         Keep the classroom clean. Make sure your area is neat before you leave class.

·         Participate actively- it’s fun!

·         LATE WORK MAY BE ACCEPTED FOR HALF CREDIT.
