Days: Monday through Friday

If you are interested in volunteering in our Media Center
please contact the Front Office at 833-4240 ext. 0.

About:

The Bluewater Media Center is a fun place to be! We have an outstanding collection of 20,000+ fiction and non-fiction books for elementary school children. On a yearly basis we offer the new Sunshine State Readers Award books.

Please check to be sure your children are checking out books throughout the year. It is helpful to have a special place in your house for library books, so that these valuable resources are returned for others to enjoy! Kindergarten students at the begining of the year may check out one book at a time. First through fifth grade students may check out two books at a time.

Volunteering:

The media center has a variety of opportunities for volunteering. While volunteering in the library the following opportunities are available: checking books in and out, helping students find books and assist with book fairs.

If you are interested in volunteering in our Media Center, Please contact James Johansen at 833-4240 Ext. 309 or johansenj@mail.okaloosa.k12.fl.us

Library Rules:

• Students are expected to treat books with respect in the Media Center.
• No gum, food or drinks are allowed.
• Internet research computers must be used for educational purposes only.

All books are due two weeks after checkout. However, students may renew books for an additional two weeks.

Damaged/Overdue/Lost Book Policy:

* If a student has an overdue book, he/she may not take out another book until the overdue book is returned.
*If a student has a damaged book, he/she may not take out another book until the fine is paid or replaced with the same title.
* Students will receive an overdue notice in their classroom when their book is two weeks past due.
*Students receive additional overdue notices every two weeks after that. When a student has received three notices through school delivery and the overdue book still has not been returned, the library sends a notice home directly to the parents/guardians. The student is offered two possible solutions: (1) return the loaned book, (2) or pay for the title. No student can take books out of the library until the lost book situation is resolved. The same applies to damaged books.
