Okaloosa County Art Students Recognized at the Van Porter Art Show

Congratulations to these very talented 8th and 12th grade Okaloosa County Art students. The art students received recognition and awards for the artwork they submitted to the Van Porter Artist of the Year show hosted by the Arts and Design Society (ADSO) of Fort Walton Beach. 39 students entered the show, 13 eighth graders and 26 seniors. The students’ art will be exhibited from February 25 - March 6 at the Arts and Design Society in Fort Walton Beach.

  • 1st place - Hunter Gould, Niceville High School, for his charcoal drawing titled "6pm Jelly" (Art teacher Emily Day)
  • 2nd place - Mary Wyrosdick, Crestview High School, for her clay piece titled "Octovase" (Art teacher Alex Pottinger)
  • 3rd place - Rebecca Holguin, Crestview High School, for her mixed media digital titled "Inner Vision" (Art teacher Alex Pottinger)
