Congratulations!!!! Caroline Orcutt, Fort Walton Beach High School, has been named a NATIONAL WINNER in the Heisman High School Scholarship Presented by Acceptance Insurance.
The judging panel selected one senior female, Caroline, and one senior male, Grahm Tuohy-Gaydos, Green Mountain High School, Lakewood, CO, from the 12 National Finalists as National Winners. Each National Winner will receive a $5,250 college scholarship.

From an applicant pool of thousands of high school scholar-athletes graduating with the class of 2021, Caroline is one of 12 outstanding student-athletes who have been named National Finalists in the Heisman High School Scholarship competition awarded by The Heisman Trophy Trust and Acceptance Insurance.
Caroline has a 4.669 Weighted GPA and is ranked 3rd in her class of 385. Throughout high school she has received many academic achievements/awards, such as: USA Pentathlon Academic All-American, AP Scholar with Distinction, National Honor Society, Distinguished Young Women Academic State Winner and Self Expression Speech and Interview State Winner, FWBHS Vikings Scholar, Okaloosa County Anne T. Mitchell Academic Award, 3X Scholar Athlete Award for Swimming, and Scholar Athlete Award for Soccer. She is a member of the USA Pentathlon National Team (Olympic Sport - running/shooting, swimming, fencing, and equestrian), Captain of the Varsity Soccer Team and Varsity Cross Country Team, and three year member of the Varsity Swim and Track Teams.
Orcutt is also very involved in the community. She is President of the Student 2 Student Club, and has participated in the Vikings Take 5 Suicide Prevention Week Project, served as a Student Tutor, created gift boxes for Deployed Airmen, served as a Key Club Project Leader for various volunteer projects, and collected Hurricane Relief supplies for Hurricanes Michael and Laura.

Over the past 26 years, the program has honored more than 600,000 of the nation’s most esteemed high school seniors and provided hundreds of thousands of dollars in college scholarships to students and more than a million dollars to high school academic and athletic programs across the country.
The program honors the nation’s most accomplished, community-minded high school senior athletes. By inviting male and female students from schools across the country to share their stories of leadership and impact, the program aims to inspire all students to harness their potential, push their limits, and use their talents not only to advance their own futures, but to improve the communities and world around them.
In their first year as presenting sponsor, Acceptance Insurance pledged an additional $25,000 scholarship donation to the program.
The 2020 National Finalists will receive a $1,250 college scholarship and compete for the chance to be named the 2020 male and female National Winners. National Winners will be announced on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 on www.heismanscholarship.com/. The two National Winners will each receive a $5,250 college scholarship.

National Finalists who do not go on to become National Winners receive a $1,250 scholarship. National Winners receive a $5,250 scholarship. This scholarship is based on the final level achieved and is not cumulative.
