Okaloosa County Art Students Recognized at the Van Porter Art Show

Congratulations to several 8th grade and 12th grade Okaloosa County Art students. These students received recognition and awards for the artwork they submitted to the Van Porter Artist of the Year show hosted by the Arts and Design Society (ADSO) of Fort Walton Beach. Students from the following high schools: Choctawhatchee, Crestview, Fort Walton Beach, and Niceville, and the following middle schools: Destin, Lewis, Liza Jackson, and Ruckel entered three pieces of their art along with their essay of “What Art Means to Me.”

The Arts and Design Society (ADSO) awards were presented by Holly Bain of ADSO to the following high school students for a selected piece of artwork: ADSO Best of Show was awarded to Ora Wolfgram, of Fort Walton Beach High School; 1st place was awarded to Sam Miller of Fort Walton Beach High School; 2nd place was awarded to Lindsea Taylor of Crestview High School; 3rd place was awarded to Jeremiah Sexton of Crestview High School; and Honorable Mention was awarded to each of the following students, Savannah Bailey, Chari Romero (both of Fort Walton Beach High School), and Issac Conrad of Crestview High School.

In the middle school division, 1st place was awarded to Calypso Coarsey of Lewis Middle School; 2nd place was awarded to Delaney Cook of Ruckel Middle School; 3rd place was awarded to Anna Keim of Ruckel Middle School; and Honorable Mention was awarded to Olivia Mead of Liza Jackson Preparatory School and Rayna Lowery of Destin Middle School.
