NHS IT Students Win Congressional App Challenge

Niceville High School students Ethan Shelstad, Sam Cota, and Josh Delamater recently won the First Congressional District of Florida Congressional App Challenge. They were invited to Capitol Hill for the House of Code reception where they were welcomed by Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz.

At the reception, the students were offered $10,000 for their app, which they declined. In addition, their app was mentioned during the Capitol Hill address of Congressman French Hill of Arkansas as one of the best apps developed this year.

"It was a wonderful educational experience for the students," said Carrie Foxhall, Niceville High School IT Instructor.  "The students are looking forward to the next app challenge."
