Eddie Steadman, Music Teacher, Eglin ES, Inducted into the Florida Bandmasters Hall of Fame for 2019

Eddie Steadman, the Music Teacher at Eglin Elementary School, was recognized at the December 9, 2019, School Board meeting for being inducted into the Florida Bandmasters Hall of Fame for 2019.

Steadman was inducted into the Florida Bandmasters Hall of Fame during the 30th Annual Florida Bandmasters Association Hall of Fame Weekend in November at Stetson University. The event included a banquet and two concerts to honor the Roll of Distinction Inductees and Hall of Fame inductees Joe Hooten and Eddie Steadman.

Steadman joined 48 current members in the Florida Bandmasters Association Hall of Fame. He joins 4 other Okaloosa County FBA Hall of Famers:

  • Ernest Hebson – 2004
  • James “Jim” Dodd – 2006
  • Randy Folsom – 2011
  • Tom Fitzpatrick - 2017

Steadman has dedicated his career to teaching music at Lewis School, Ruckel Middle School, and now Eglin Elementary School. He is the consummate professional and he represents what any Hall of Fame should be about.
