First Place Winners in The Art in the Capitol Competition Recognized

The Art in the Capitol Competition, Section 1003.49965, Florida Statutes, is a statewide visual arts competition that requires each school district to annually hold an art competition for all students in Grades 6-8.

The following students placed first and were recognized at the November 12th School Board Meeting:

  • Maida Naveed Siddiqi, Okaloosa STEMM Academy – Painting Category
  • Danielle Jones, Bruner Middle School, Miscellaneous – Digital Art Category
  • Nylah Perryman, Ruckel Middle School, Overall Winner – First Place and Best in Show Drawing Category.

Nylah Perryman’s overall winning entry will be on display in the Florida Capitol Rotunda during the Legislative Session from January 14 – March 13, 2020.
