Music

Musical is essential to human development, most especially while we are young. Not only does it bolster reading skills, math and science literacy it also creates stronger connections between our right and left brain hemispheres. This is how music makes us smarter. There are hundreds of thousands of scholarly articles backed and supported with research that demonstrate the importance of school music.  The music program at Plew Elementary is setup in such a way that each year builds on the previous year.  We strive to ensure every child can read music, understand basic theory, play an instrument and sing.  I encourage you to sing, play and create music with your child at home.  It’s easy and fun! Even asking them to show or teach you what they learned each week can make a child excited about music!
