Lewis School Kindergarten Implements Sustainable Garden
Lewis School has implemented a sustainable garden to help the school’s families in need. “Although our garden is just growing through the summer, for many more schools years to come, my Kindergarten students will be able to help those in need, learn about the importance of preserving our earth, and so much more,” said Kindergarten teacher Amy Koch. “There is nothing like an outdoor classroom.”
Lewis School has received numerous grants to fund a greenhouse, an irrigation system, raised garden beds, soil and more. Koch stated, “I am so proud of my children and their efforts. We have come a long way since day one. We have everything from corn to strawberries growing."
