PARENTS

In the aftermath of the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School, the National Association of School Psychologist has provided some suggestions to assist parents with talking to their children concerning this event. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with the families and community of Newton, Connecticut.

I will make my child’s education a priority, and model positive actions and attitudes. I will partner with my child’s school to ensure I am informed and involved in all aspects of my child’s education, and will be an active advocate for my child’s education. Parent Portal to View Grades:

Checking your Grades Online - Tutorial

The Parent Portal provides grade and attendance information parents need to stay fully involved with their student's academic progress. The link is found on the SRMS home page under Important Links.

To access your student's grades: You will need two numbers: the 10 digit student identification number and the Personal Identification Number (PIN). The PIN number is the last 4 digits of the student id number.

Your student's id number is printed on report cards, schedules, FIC update sheets, progress reports and other school documents. You can request that the school send the number home with the student. If you should have any questions concerning your student's grades, please contact your student's teacher.

E-mail Notification is also Available: A feature within the Parent Portal allows parents to keep track of their child's grades by email notification. Simply sign up for the e-mail notification after you log in to the Parent Portal. After receiving a verification email, you can download the Parent Email Authorization Form, sign it and return it to SRMS Guidance to complete the registration process. Please be aware that both the online request and the form must be completed in order for you to begin receiving emails. Contact Ms. Lamb in guidance at 689-7229 or lambt@mail.okaloosa.k12.fl.us if you have questions.
