E.O. Wilson Biophilia Center

The E. O. Wilson Biophilia Center offers unique opportunities for students to learn about the natural environment through interpretative exhibits as well as an extensive trail system through natural areas on Nokuse Plantation.  Fourth and seventh grade students from across the county have been continuing to learn about the native ecosystems from the tremendous staff at the E.O. Wilson Biophilia Center in Freeport, FL.

At the E.O. Wilson Biophilia Center, students learn first hand about the native long-leaf pine ecosystem and its importance here in NW Florida.  The Center has programs and special events that teach students about the importance of recycling, native species to the area, and the global impact of energy consumption, among many others. The Center’s mission is to educate local students on the importance of biodiversity, to promote sustainability, and to encourage conservation and preservation of ecosystems.
