FAFSA Workshop

Attention Seniors! The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) opened on Monday, October 1st! We have invited Dr. Aimee Watts from Northwest Florida State College to our campus. She will be conducting a workshop on Thursday, November 8th at 5:30 pm to assist you and your family with this rigorous process required of all students planning on using any type of financial aide in college (including scholarships). Attention Seniors and parents! Choctawhatchee High School is offering a workshop on financial aid and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on Thursday, November 8th, at 5:30 PM in the Media Center. The evening will begin with a presentation covering financial aid options by Dr. Aimee Watts, Executive Director of Financial Planning & Scholarships at Northwest Florida State College. After the presentation, Seniors and parents will then have the opportunity to complete the FAFSA application on the computer with the assistance of Dr. Watts. For the FAFSA lab, parents and students should bring the following materials (dependent students will need parent information):

  • Social Security Numbers for student and all family members
  • Driver License
  • W- Forms (Tax years 2016 and 2017)
  • Prior-prior year tax return
  • Bank statements
  • Investment records
  • Untaxed income records

Sign up with Ms. Trammell in the Guidance/IB office no later than Wednesday, November 7th, to ensure that you will have a computer to use to complete the online application. You may still attend the workshop even if you do not sign up in advance, although computer availability is not guaranteed. Please see Ms. Waskow or Ms. White with any questions.




JV Football Game Rescheduled

The JV football game at home vs. Niceville, originally scheduled for Tuesday, September 4th, has been moved to Wednesday, September 5th at 6pm. The game will be played at Choctaw's Etheredge Stadium.

TS Gordon - School Canceled Tuesday

Choctawhatchee High School is closed on Tuesday, September 4th, 2018 due to safety concerns associated with the landfall of Tropical Storm Gordon.  Please stay informed by following Okaloosa County School District and Choctawhatchee High School social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) as these services will be updated as more information is gathered.




Mats for the Homeless

Choctaw's Fellowship of Christian Athletes is collecting plastic grocery bags to use to make sleeping mats for the homeless in our area.  Please help us by contributing clean used plastic bags.  Bags may be given to Mrs. Atkins in Room 2B08 or Mrs. Sawdon in Room 2B06.

Summer Testing Dates (Updated)


Summer testing dates for Choctaw are Thursday, July 12th, and Monday, July 16th (only if needed), 2018.  Students needing to take an EOC should call Choctaw High School at 833-3614, ext. 2, after July 4, 2018, to sign up for the needed test(s).  Testing will begin at 8:00 am on each of these dates.  Each EOC will be a one-day tests so students will need to specify which EOC they need and which date they prefer.  A photo ID will be required to enter the testing room.
