FWBHS Senior Cam Farrah Wins 2019 WetaFest Regatta
A fleet of 27 sailors from around the US and Canada came to compete in Fort Walton at WetaFest, a singlehanded multihull event that served as the US Multihull Championships last year (where Cam took 10th).
After two days of racing, Cam was in 3rd place, having raced in light to heavy breeze on Friday and Saturday. Sunday was forecast to be very heavy air, for a distance race around the bay. Knowing she needed a first place to win, Cam was able to make her boat fly in up to 24 knots of breeze, winning the distance race and the overall regatta. Huge victory for the Captain of the Fort Walton Beach High School sailing team.
Cam will be sailing in the Olympic Development Program this summer, and racing at Tulane’s Division 1 Varsity Sailing Team in the fall. Congrats Cam!
