Substitute Teacher Applicants
The procedure for seeking employment is outlined below. We thank you for your interest and remind you that Okaloosa County is committed to Equal Opportunity.

Applications will be on file for one year. Submission of application does not guarantee employment. Once your application has been completed and verified, you will receive an email notification to schedule an appointment for substitute employment.

Fingerprinting and Newcomers Orientation

• Educational Support Substitute applicants are not required to have fingerprints taken until hired. Once hired, applicants must be fingerprinted and attend a Newcomers Orientation prior to reporting to work.
  
• Substitute Teacher applicants must be fingerprinted and attend the Newcomers Orientation prior to being hired.

  Fingerprinting is taken by appointment only.
  There is a fee required, payable with Master Card, VISA, or money order, payable to OCSD. Please call 833-5812 for an appointment or for further information. 

  Substitute/Temporary Application Process

  To apply for a substitute position, you will need to complete the online application. (See below.) Once you have applied online, any documents that need to be sent to Personnel directly - such as mailed references, transcripts, diplomas, certificates, licenses, vocational experience, test scores, etc. - should be mailed to:
